If we could see into the future, Would it come to us in flashes,
Or would we find that we could focus, for long periods of time?
And if the latter were true then would, these presages become normal,
So we’d be always looking forward, Forgetting all thats past?
Inside my contradiction on the M3 motorway
Gridlocked going nowhere staring through the window pane
I watched a wingless insect as it struggled to regain itself,
but stumble from each inconvenience to face the same again
I don’t think we quite appreciate the power of the rain
Until we see the complications that a single droplet makes
Take nothing but pictures,
kill nothing but time
Leave nothing but footprints,
and she’ll be fine
What if we scaled things up and saw that insect as an island
Because the insects host to parasites that act a lot like humans
Single drops become big waves, the window pane becomes an ocean
The breeze becomes a wind that magnifys the waves momentum
Then it surges on its coarse armed with the grace of mother nature
Dishing out the consequences for those actions made against her
If we take, nothing but pictures,
kill nothing but time
Leave nothing but footprints and she’ll be fine
The crimes that we’re commiting aren’t like footprints found on beaches
The tides will not come rolling in and wash them all away
And for so long we’ve been quite happy fixing problems temporarily
Occasionally reacting to pictures on the news
But out of sight and out of mind while there’s still other ground to stand on
Sitting in our bubbles while the problems reproduce
But if we take, nothing but pictures,
kill nothing but time
leave nothing but our footprints and she’ll be fine
If we could see into the future, would it come to us in flashes,
Or would we find that we could focus, for long periods of time?
And if the latter were true then would, these presages become normal,
So we’d be always looking forward, Forgetting all the reasons why?
I remember the first time that I saw what i had
the view showed it slipping away from me,
unable to picture the happy times passed
as I mulled over pain I’d created,
for you.
And I wondered, why id been fumbling about with this blessing
pushing till it showed signs of breaking
when I know that there must be a very thin line
separating whats breaking from,
broken.
Is it to late to turn the tides,
on any tears I helped to fall
so smiles could take their place instead,
and they’d need never fall at all
its not as easy as extenuating distance in the eyes
sometimes they hide the distance we create inside our minds
and peace of minds not easy to find if you are always looking for it
your only granted what you wish for if you wish for what your granted
I wondered, why id been fumbling about with this blessing
pushing till it showed signs of breaking
when I knew that there must be a very thin line
separating whats breaking from,
…broken.
If its not to late to turn the tides,
on any tears i helped to fall
I think I know the reasons why they did,
and I wont do them anymore…
I will know my song well before I start to sing it
And sing for the feeling it gives me inside
Dig deep in my soul for the words that I choose
And take all criticism of me with a smile
Remember this moment and everyone after
Learn from the reminding memories of life
But be well aware that im only a guest here
And do everything that i can with my time
I need to get back nature, be one with the planet
Nourish and nurture it as it has me
Feel only love for the world and all in it
Be greatful for all I am blessed to receive
Take all in my stride but take nothing for granted
Never hesitate to get on with my life
Have faith in myself and my spirit will guide me
I’ll follow the path I believe to be right
I wont be distracted by peoples reactions
Say what i mean as it enters my mind
But make sure I take good addvice when its given
And do what I fear as I previously scribed
We must always keep searching for knowledge and wisdom
Make sure we do if we are able to teach
Take others ideas into consideration
And practice the things that we think we should preach
So easily my imagination loses me
turns the things I thought I knew around
Takes my mind off all that I was doing
makes me question all I think i’ve found
And although everything in life may have its purpose
I find exceptance lies bahind its reasoning
Right now its hard for me to keep my concerntration
on all the things I really want to be
It’s so easy to say how you think that things should be
much easier to then self contradict
But I cant let misdirection lead me stray
there’s never been a better time to start
Must take the tings we love to higher levels
egocentric acts arent driven by the heart
and I said I wouldn’t let things cause distraction
Said to practice everything you preach
theres far to much hypocrisy already
without installments from the likes of you and me
Its so easy to say how you think that things should be
Much easier to than self contradict
So easy to say how you think that things should be
But so much easier to then self contradict
Is this confusion just a temporary set back
Am I really who I thought I ought to be
Id better act on that already talked about
Before im back to where i first began to think…
There’s Herrings and theres elephants
red and white respectivly
false flags and smoke screens
the modern day mystery
our eyes are locked on prizes
and now the chase has become tantalizing
like cats and dogs with mirrorballs
a lazer pens reflecting in
and we’re taking it all…. right in
we let them supersize these lies
and now we’re happily ingesting them
mcdonalds for the mind
glitter for the eyes
contortion for our souls
restricted and controlled
Is it not truth that we’re supposed to see
in the papers and on tv screens
are the people really blind to these
hidden agendas and the fat cats pipedreams?
our chosen motivations
in consequential situations
overlooked by wide and dazzled eyes
celebrity obsessed and pacified
and we’re taking it all…. right in
we let them supersize these lies
and now we’re happily ingesting them
mcdonalds for the mind
glitter for the eyes
contortion for the soul
the masses all controlled
and we’re taking it all…. right in
we let them airbrush out the lies
so theres no need for them to compromise
on mcdonalds for the mind
There’s Herrings and theres elephants
red and white respectivly
false flags and smoke screens
determining our destiny…
Stand Up lyrics (by Nathan Ball)
When the situation, was more manageable all action, was neglected
Now that it has so assiduously eluded our grip
We apply to late the remedies to lessen our allure
Towards such deeply set benightedness, and the chances of a cure
Stand up, eyes open, ears down too the ground
There is nothing in this story that is new for us to find
It boasts an age that is comparable to the books of sybillines
Stand up, eyes open, ears down too the ground
It does fall into that long and dismal, catalogue of fruitlessness
In the confirmed unteachability of mankind through experience
Want of foresight and no care to act when action would be simple
Lack of clear affective thinking by a confused council until
Emergency inevitably summons up its song
Until self preservation rises up to strike it’s jarring gong
These are the features that do constitute, our endless repetition
throughout his…. story
Stand up, eyes open, ears down to the ground
Stand up, eyes open, ears down to the ground
Their power lies in our obedience
So we must disobey
Instead of settling for convenience
To then look, the other way
Stand up, eyes open, ears down to the ground
Stand up, eyes open, ears down to the ground
Stand up.
Words of a Winston Churchill speech (adapted for ‘Stand Up’)
“When the situation was manageable, it was neglected. And now that it is thoroughly out of hand, we apply to late the remedies which then might have effected a cure. There is nothing new in the story, it is as old as the sibylline books. It falls into that long dismal catalogue of the fruitlessness of experience and confirmed unteachability of mankind. Want of foresight, unwillingness to act when action would be simple and effective, lack of clear thinking, confusion of counsel until emergency comes, until self preservation strikes its jarring gong…
-These are the features which constitute the endless repetition of history.”
Winston Churchill, 1935
